Take Me Away #16

take me away new art 1

The universe expands and contracts. Stars explode into space and outshine the sun. In the void of space, nothing can be heard. The earth spins and turns, floating in the same space as dying stars and exploding suns. Their light provides earth with a spectacle of beauty. Here on earth, as day turns into night and night gives way to light, we sense, we feel, we touch, we hear everything.

We have the ability to hear things of beauty, to hear melody and rhythm, we have the ability to connect with others through the powerful force of music. Seven Lions, takes full advantage of that force. His sound is ethereal and beautiful, and more often than not, it is characterized as melodic dubstep. Jeff Montalvo is the mastermind behind Seven Lions. He hails from Santa Barbara, California and is currently signed to Casablanca Records. He has new album out now titled “Worlds Apart”.

One of my favorite tracks from Seven Lions is “Don’t Leave” featuring Ellie Goulding. The track has a very light dubstep feel to it in the introduction and it quickly moves into the vocals from the ultra talented Ellie Goulding. The track is reminiscent of other signature Seven Lions tracks, its hypnotic, trance-like and has the dubstep element without it being overpowering. Listen for yourself!
